Christmas Newsletter 2011

Just in case you didn't see this...

December 2011

Greetings Friends & Family!

I am so excited to finally get a newsletter out to you all…It’s only taken me 3 years!  Since I haven’t seen some of you for a while, here is a quick update on life with the Villars…

Daniel and I are currently living right next to Scott Lane Elementary School where I have been teaching bilingual kindergarten at for the past 3 years.  After spending my first year of teaching in San Jose Unified School District, I was excited to go “home” and teach at the school that I attended as a child.  I have also taken on a part-time consulting position with a local tutoring company and I am the AWANA Cubbies Director at Hillside Church on Sunday nights.  When I’m not working in those roles or event planning for PTA at school, I enjoy taking Zumba classes, catching up with friends, and spending time with my family, which includes two 1-year old littermate kittens, Niko (M, black & white) and Suki (F, grey & white).

Daniel just finished his 3rd semester of general education courses at Mission College.  He hopes to be ready to transfer to San Jose State University after 1-2 more semesters at MC.  In his spare time, Daniel plays just about every sport possible, his favorites of late being tennis and golf, although, he would love to play more badminton if the opportunity arose. J  For the past year and a half, Daniel has been playing in an indoor soccer league with some friends from Hillside.  Although they had a slow start, the team has started to gel these past few seasons and the games have become increasingly more exciting to attend.

Now to share a little of what we believe God has in store for us in the next year…
We have decided to move to Peru!  We plan to go sometime in late summer 2012 and return the following summer in 2013.  This means that I will be resigning from my teaching job at the end of this school year and will be looking for some type of teaching job in Lima, where we will be living.  The main reason we are going is to spend time with Daniel’s family (his mom, dad, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 nephews).  We are excited about this new adventure but also a little apprehensive about the details that still need to fall into place (permission to go with Daniel’s VISA, job opportunities for both of us, a place to live after the initial stay at the in-law’s home, adjustment for our kitties to the humidity in Lima, etc.)  We would appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we continue to work through these difficulties.  Also, in order to keep you informed, I have created at webpage which I hope to update periodically as departure grows nearer.  You can find it at http://lafamiliavillar.blogspot.com
hat’s all from our end but, we would love to hear from you!  Whether by email or snail mail, please send us an update on you and your family.  We would love to know how we can be praying for you!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year,

The Villars
